Tourist Spot

Kalantiaw Shrine
The Kalantiaw Shrine is located at Batan, it was once the seat of of Rajah Bendahara Kalantiaw promulgator of the famous Code of Kalantiaw. The Philippine Historical and Cultural Society built the Kalantiaw Shrine in 1957 on a location where a school building once stood. Kalantiaw Shrine is a museum dedicated to preserve Aklan's rich cultural and historical past. It exhibits a pictorial history from the pre-Hispanic period to the contemporary era. It is also built in honor of Rajah Bendahara Kalantiaw, the first known Filipino lawgiver and the promulgator of the famous Code of Kalantiaw. A display of the original manuscript of the Code can be found in the museum.
Aklanons, during World War II, have shown great courage in battles. To preserve this memory and pay tribute to the province' contribution to the nation's liberty, the people have built the Freedom Shrine.

 ATI- ATIHAN FESTIVAL
Celebrated all over the towns of Aklan, this is a week long celebration in honor of the Patron Saint Sto. Nino, which culminates on the 3rd Sunday of January. It is the ultimate jubilating, titillating, stimulating, riotous, and frenetic aboriginal street dancing to the early primitive tempo and pulse of drums, participated in by different tribes in their full battle regalia as they crowd the principal streets of Kalibo rejoicing breathlessly to their religious vows.
